2016 Packaging Refresh

You’re going to start seeing something a little different when you pick up your next pack of Brooklyn Brewery beer. A lot different, to be totally honest. After 28 years of iconic design, we’re introducing our first-ever full-scale packaging refresh, and you bet your trendiest duds that it’s a sweet look.

Brooklyn Brewery co-founder and chairman Steve Hindy and graphic design legend Milton Glaser (pictured above) have been working together since Milton sketched the first Brooklyn Brewery logo back in the early days of the company. They both spoke to Fast Company last week about the new designs and their decades-spanning friendship. Steve also spoke to us, saying:

“Milton will be 87 this year but he goes to work every day at his office in Manhattan. I think he has done some of his best work in the past five years. Last year, we asked him to refresh our packaging for a new generation of beer drinkers. He has done it brilliantly. The new packaging is unmistakably Brooklyn Brewery, but it links our diverse portfolio together on the store shelves in a colorful billboard effect that has “shelf authority” and is sure to inspire others.  We are excited about this novel packaging and we look forward to working with Milton for many years to come.”

American Ale is the first to receive the new packaging, followed by the brand-new Sorachi Ace six packs and the rest of the gang will follow soon. Check out some of the designs above, and get ready to replace your wallpaper.
