Germany is the ancestral home of some of the most respected beer on the planet. If you come with your own beer, it has to be the best you can muster. We’ve been doing a great job so far, but we’ve decided to elevate our game by beginning to ship some of our beers to the Rhineland via tanker.
Why tankers, you ask? They share many of the same benefits of beer cans: oxygen-free storage, zero light exposure, and a simpler method of shipping. A single tanker holds 25,000 liters of beer without any extra packaging taking up space. The beer arrives fresh, lively, and full of the spirit we taste right at the source in our brewhouse.
Once these tankers reach Germany, our friends at Carlsberg will handle packaging the beer (though we like to imagine buying a tanker and using it to fill a small pool.) For the first time ever, Brooklyn Lager will be available on draft in Germany, and Brooklyn Lager and East IPA will be available in special 330ml bottles. Honestly, we’re jealous of the bottles.
You can grab your first taste of the new draft Brooklyn Lager at the Braukunst Live Festival in Munich on February 26 through 28. Our Export Manager Claire Moyle will be personally pouring fresh Brooklyn Lager, East IPA, Sorachi Ace, Scorcher, Blast!, 1/2 Ale, K is for Kriek, and Black Ops, and taking any and all questions you have about Brooklyn Brewery beers and the wild world of sending beer all over the world. Be sure to say hi at the festival, and let us know when you start seeing the new bottles and drafts in your favorite spots. Prost!
