Today in Office Distractions: NYC-based beer blog Brew York posted a comprehensive map of the 45 breweries calling Brooklyn and Queens home as of 1898. Blogger Chris O’Leary assembled the exhaustive list thanks to the New York Public Library’s digital collection of Brewers Guides to the United States, digging up addresses where street names have changed, and cobbling it all together into the map below.
Gold-flagged breweries are in Brooklyn, and red-flagged breweries are in Queens (though Queens wasn’t incorporated until 1899.)
